Whispering Wave

The sound of the wave, So silent and slow No hue, no cry No rushing in Closely coming into my fold Nearing just the edge Fearing the next move So subtle and subdued It ought to be true Graceful and elegant It keeps coming back There’s always some hope Of a listening ear An echo so rare That tender care My soul, can caress My heart, no distress Moving across the shore Reaching the island I’m not so lonely around here Wishing the winds would change In which direction, my feet away This is all I ask for A comforting voice around Not alone anymore Reflecting homebound No misery, no joy I found my delight Rest assured, my life would be This is all I want to be!
