Daddy dearest, Daddy dearest,
You make my heart smile, you spread laughter and cheer around,
I miss you lots, I think about you
And cherish the times we’ve spent.
Your same old jokes, you simple ways,
Your love and care, never led me astray.
I walked holding that finger of yours’,
You held me tight onto the bike,
I learned the very hard way to fight.
The math master you’re known as
I knew the answers all right.
You believed in my dreams and let me pursue,
I never realised how fast I grew.
Each step I took, you guided me,
We ate midnight ice creams, no one knew
The retro songs you sang all day,
The enthusiasm you showed always.
A piece of advice and corrections you made,
I could not but find a friend in you.
You stood by the decisions I made,
And said wow to the beginner’s burnt-made.
Years have passed and still I talk to you for hours
Your humility and gentleness,
Your clear conscience and unselfishness,
Your generosity and simplicity,
I stand in awe and pride.
A good listener to my stories,
Yet not been so judgmental about them.
I miss you ,coz am closest to you,
Would have been nothing if it was not YOU.
So, I asked the Lord to keep you happy,
And bless you in abundance you live long heartily.
And wish could just be that lil’ baby in your arms,
The moment now calls me to give you a hug.
It begun with ‘Dadda’ and ‘Daughter’.
And it blossomed to ‘Robert’ and ‘Candy’
This is special and one of a kind,
Nothing but it’s the hand of the Divine.

It makes me think the worth of being brought up well. A parent’s duty, an orphan’s necessity. Even children born are deprived of it. Is it just material wealth, food, shelter, clothes-I wonder. I ponder over those giving birth to children, but have failed in their duties to give them the right kind of upbringing. Parents are over concerned about their children, and why not, after all their parents. Over protective and will do whatever they can, even yield to their stubbornness. But yet devoid of that love and understanding. I have come across my pals who have been forced to take up careers and marry the person of their parent’s choice. Parents have failed to understand that they try to fulfill their incomplete needs, which they haven’t been able to achieve in their life and now do so through their children. How ironic to be moronic! When morons rule us at our workplace, it’s tough to stick on. I call it pulling along, struggles and debates on proving one’s worth. To have courage and take a stand, take no blame for doing what is right. The true reason of unemployment is that well qualified, experienced and confident individuals are facing the challenge everyday. The financial security, responsibility and a status of reputed brand, pay package and profile is the concern. A large number of them churning out of B-Schools and attending interviews, stiff competition ahead and guaranteed placements through college isn’t enough. Stress control, deadlines, pressures and dominance make it hard for one to survive. All I need is to learn to deal.
